Mike Verzaleno - Newark Business Leader in Steel Recycling

Mike Verzaleno serves as the president of Kearny Steel Container, a family-owned company located in Newark, New Jersey. In his role, Mike Verzaleno oversees daily operations, including production management, employee supervision, purchasing, and customer relations.

Additionally, Mike Verzaleno coordinates various business functions to maintain efficiency and support customer needs across locations, including Jessup, Pennsylvania, Secaucus, New Jersey, and Rochester, New York. Kearny Steel specializes in reconditioning 55-gallon steel and plastic drums, rebottling 275- and 330-gallon IBC containers, and recycling industrial packaging used by industries such as food, fragrance, and chemicals.

Mr. Verzaleno earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Verzaleno participates in community and industry organizations, including the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA). He managed the Akadema Heat Club Travel Baseball Team from 2009 to 2015 and remains active in recreational sports. His personal interests include golf, offshore saltwater fishing, hiking, weight training, and running. He has competed in golf tournaments at Glen Ridge Country Club and hopes to complete the New York City Marathon in the future.
